DISTRIBUTOR PURCHASING INFORMATION
Rollator catalogue, specification sheet or manual?
ABLEORA · Editorial review · English
A catalogue can help a distributor build a rollator shortlist, but it cannot answer every question needed for a quotation or an order. A product name, photograph, specification sheet and instruction manual may describe different levels of information. The useful question is not simply whether documents exist, but which document supports this exact model, configuration and decision.
This is a procurement-record method, not confirmation that a particular model is available, that a document applies to your market or that a product passed a test. Those points require their own evidence and written confirmation.
Start with the decision you need to make
Separate shortlisting from ordering. While shortlisting, compare product formats, wheel layouts, folding arrangements and published features. Before confirming an order, identify the agreed model and configuration, the applicable information sources and the remaining questions.
Do not fill a missing specification with a value from a similar-looking model. Identify the missing field and ask the responsible party for its source. A useful enquiry can move forward without turning an assumption into a product claim.
Five records, five different purposes
| Record | Useful for | What it does not establish on its own |
|---|---|---|
| Product catalogue | Find product families and initial model references; note the catalogue title, version and page. | Does not alone establish current stock, supply terms or availability of every pictured configuration. |
| Current product page | Review the information publicly listed for one model and open the appropriate enquiry. | An unlisted value is not zero, and a downloaded file does not automatically cover every product on the site. |
| Model specification sheet | Check the stated dimensions, configuration and other fields against a named model and revision. | Does not establish that every pictured accessory is included or another model shares the values. |
| Applicable instruction manual | Identify instructions and limitations for the specified product and version. | Does not establish that a visually similar model or unconfirmed replacement part is covered. |
| Written quotation and order record | Define the agreed configuration, quantity, included items and commercial scope of the actual transaction. | Does not replace technical, testing or market evidence that needs separate identification and checking. |
Match identity before comparing numbers
Create one reference line with the model name or number, seller SKU and configuration being discussed. Record the origin of each identifier rather than assuming a seller SKU and a manufacturer's model number are interchangeable. If two files use the same model name with different details, keep both references and request clarification.
Retain each measurement's label and units. Open product dimensions, folded dimensions and packed-carton dimensions answer different questions. Net product weight does not substitute for packed gross weight. Once sources are known, use the existing quotation comparison record to organise the packing fields.
Check the file's scope and revision
Record the document title, issuer where stated, revision or date, relevant page and exact model references. If these are absent, mark them unknown. A newer date alone does not prove that a file applies to the configuration you are buying.
For company-level material or product-family information, ask what applies to the selected model. Do not convert a general statement into a model-specific certificate or test result. When a particular test or market requirement matters, request the actual relevant evidence and have its applicability checked by the responsible parties. This article does not decide regulatory eligibility.
Resolve conflicting information without hiding the gap
If a catalogue, product page and quotation describe an included component differently, do not select the most attractive wording and publish it as confirmed. Quote the conflicting sources, identify the differing field and request one written answer linked to the intended order.
Keep the answer with the revised source or quotation. A short clarification can identify an open issue, but should not silently replace the applicable technical record. Record the responsible party, next confirmation and whether the matter is still open.
A compact document register to copy
Model / seller SKU / selected configuration: __ Decision requiring evidence: __ Document title / issuer as stated: __ Revision or date / relevant page: __ Model and configuration named in the source: __ Field / stated value / units / source: __ Conflicting or missing information: __ Responsible party / next written confirmation: __ Status / confirmed source reference: __
Blank fields mean more information is needed. They do not mean a product failed a test, is unavailable or has no documentation. A completed register is not a certificate, inspection report or permission to repair a mobility aid.
How to use ABLEORA's current resources
Start with the public resource centre for available catalogues and separately published product files. Compare model references with the current walking and mobility range. Catalogue inclusion is a reference for discussion, not a stock or availability commitment.
For a focused enquiry, send the model shortlist, destination market, buying role and the fields or document references you need clarified. ABLEORA coordinates sourcing discussions and selected manufacturing resources. Responsibilities, documentation and supply scope are confirmed for the selected product and order. Do not send customer or patient personal information.
